| | | most popular heavy metal songs? | | what do you think are the*most popular* heavy metal songs (not the new stuff like archenemy or slipknot, but classic metal)? Not which is your favorite but which are the most popular? The reason I ask is because I'm trying to choose good metal songs for karaoke! So far I did Breaking the Law by Judas Priest and Enter Sandman by Metallica, but I am looking for new ones! | |

| Vinyl records... | | Yesterday I went to a record and CD fair and I bought 12 records. I bought some great stuff like The Beatles, Neil Young, Hawkwind and The Chocolate Watch Band. I even bought a brand new Eddie Cochran record which is still in the shrink wrap. I love vinyl records, I can hear things in vinyl that I can't hear in CD's. There's some percussion on Neil Youngs "Comes A Time" album that I never noticed before. I've listened to 5 of the records so far and they're in good condition, apart from one of The Hawkwind records which skips a groove. Apart from that I'm pretty happy with my purchase:) I know CD's aren't as likely to get scratched but when they do they're unplayable. At least when vinyl skips a groove or has a scratch you can still listen to the rest of record.Does anyone else think vinyl is cool? | |
| | Michael Moorcook - I have 160 of his books. Does anyone have more? | | I have a great collection of nearly all the books ever written by Michael Moorcock, from his early outing "Sojan the Swordsman", to the classic "Eternal Champion" series. He wrote many books grouped into small series. The books of Corum, Elric, Hawkmoon, Erikose, Jerry Cornelius etc were all great reads. The "End of Time" books were totally whacky as were many of his books. Something that not a lot of people know is that Michael Moorcock used to go on stage with Hawkwind in the early 70's and read poems between their songs! | |
