Talk about the rock music that you love here!| what music styles do you love playing? | | hi everyone, we may have different kind of music that we like playing. For example some of us may like to play blues, rock, jazz, metal, country. its all music and we may like them all. But is there one style that we love playing? as for me i love playing blues, not that i dont like playing the rest, but i prefer feel the groove for blues more then other genres. | | listening to music, lyrics drive your attention first or the music? | | i am a music junkie[em]rasp[/em] i listen to any song the music catches me first, i observe the progression of the song and the different instruments in the song, i don't listen to hip hop or trance music much coz to me there is nothing much of musicality as there is in jazz/blues/rock/metal .. maybe i am more interested in these coz i play drums, and the lyrics of the song catches my attention after the music, what about you guys? pay more attention to the lyrics or like to listen to the music, some songs are a great combination of both.. i have also got songs of bands like avial, a tamil band, i don't understand the lyrics but the band is awesome![em]thumbup[/em] i see creativity in such bands, there are various other bands which i may not understand but the music! | |

| | Your Take: Marc Broussard -- Bayou Soul! | | Anyone heard of this guy before? I just recently discovered his music and was blown away by the voice that this man has. Not to mention the emotion he puts into his singing. He classifies his music as Bayou Soul (hence the title) -- which is a mashup of funk, R&B, blues, rock and pop. He puts all of these genres together to make some beautiful music. If you're a fan of say....Jonny Lang, Mat Kearney, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Matt Nathanson, etc, etc, then I'd definitely recommend this guy. Actually, I'd recommend this guy to anyone, cuz I'm sure everyone would find at least one song they like from him.Anyone else here think this guy is amazing, or am I the only one?! | |
